  • Physiology and Pathophysiology: Briefly cover what happens during a cardiac arrest, including common causes and the importance of immediate intervention.
  • Recognizing Cardiac Arrest: Teach how to quickly identify signs and symptoms of cardiac arrest to initiate the appropriate response.
2. Roles and Responsibilities
  • Team Roles: Define specific roles (e.g., team leader, compressor, ventilator, defibrillation, medication administrator) and responsibilities during a resuscitation attempt.
  • Effective Communication: Emphasize the importance of clear, concise, and direct communication among team members.
3. Team Dynamics
  • Leadership: Discuss the role of the team leader in coordinating the resuscitation efforts, making decisions, and maintaining team focus.
  • Collaboration: Highlight the importance of teamwork and mutual support, ensuring that all team members are working towards the same goal.
  • Feedback and Adaptation: Teach how to provide and receive constructive feedback during and after the resuscitation attempt to improve performance.
4. Technical Skills

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Cover advanced techniques such as medication administration, advanced airway management, and electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation.
5. Simulation and Practice
  • Scenario-Based Training: Use realistic simulations to practice resuscitation scenarios and reinforce team roles and communication.
  • Debriefing: After simulations, conduct debriefing sessions to discuss what went well, what could be improved, and how to apply lessons learned in real situations.
6. Protocols and Guidelines
  • Current Guidelines: Ensure that the training aligns with the latest guidelines from organizations such as the American Heart Association (AHA) or European Resuscitation Council (ERC).
